I am a friendly Canadian who has been living in London for the past four years. I love living in this city. I'm fond of the old buildings, bridges, benches (that encourage pedestrianised areas), free museums, markets, public toilets (not in a George Michael kind of way, but in a - you don't have to feel bad walking into a pub or restaurant and end up having to spend money on drinks you don't really want kind of way), I love riding in taxis in the evening and driving along the embankment and seeing the skyline lit up in lights. I'm fond of simple things, I suppose.

I can at times be a bit quirky. For example, I'll usually only cross the street at traffic lights and only if the green man says walk (unless accompanied, and if you cross when the red man says stop, I will call you a daredevil!). I think having a bowl of popcorn adorned with seasoned toppings is an acceptable dinner and I do confess to a love of good-scented fabric softeners and a whole host of other random things.

Additionally I enjoy going to the movies, the theatre, ballets, operas, travelling (which was what originally prompted me to move to the UK) and meeting up with wonderful friends for drinks and dinners.

I like to keep myself busy, whether that be taking french, british sign language or tap dancing classes. It's a wonderful way to meet new people, and I have met some lovely characters! I've mainly discovered London through the people I've come to know and now associate parts of the city with particular individuals. Perhaps I am looking to explore something new with you!
