Thanksgiving, Diwali and Halloween are now all over! :( I guess we're going to have to start looking forward to Eid, Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa! :)

To jump into things... I'm a Great Guy - or in POF terminology- a Great Catch.

I'm an Educated, Articulate Gentleman - essentially a "nice guy" - but I'm not willing to "finish last" as the saying goes. I'm old school: I open doors, get flowers, etc... I'm also the Swiss Army knife of guys! I'm a little bit of everything... I can hold my own with Harvard MBAs discussing biz talk (usually boring unless after several beers!) to PhDs discussing Foreign Policy or Medical ethics. On the flip side, I can also take on pop culture experts with the latest gossip on TMZ and am pretty knowledgeable on my movie trivia. I'm more of a TMN/HBO/Showtime kind of TV viewer when I have the time. I enjoy exploring the city and country, going up north to the cottage, and also travelling abroad when time and money permit... My definition of great vacations include one week during the cold months down south to just veg on a beach, and a couple of weeks during better weather in Europe etc. to explore and have a more cultural experience. Add to that the odd weekend here or there to visit friends in NYC, going to Montreal etc. After several years away from extreme sports, I'm getting ready to dust off my gear for 2010 and will be using the winter to get back into shape for some extreme fun!

I'm dependable, considerate, caring, and genuine. I'm a man of my word and am very honorable. I'm also very open and honest- I can even express my feelings which seems to be quite unique for guys these days.

I'm working my way up the corporate ladder in a pretty interesting and fun industry and admittedly I work way too long hours even though I fully agree with the "work to live" mantra. Mainly I need someone to help me break the corporate shackles by giving me a reason to leave early... Having dinner or drinks with an interesting, fun and exciting woman is definitely a good reason! Although I can be competitive and ambitious, I am more of a team player and have patience to know that everything will come in good time. I also have no issues with putting someone else first provided that it is a fair and equal relationship built on love, trust and mutual respect. Family and friends are very important to me - I am very loyal - although if someone is wrong about something I will be the first to call them on it.

In terms of personality, I also can be pretty politically incorrect (in a good way!) and sarcastic... I'm definitely a fan of Bill Maher's type of humour particularly around social commentary. I try to find humour in everything... I believe Shakespeare said it best when he said that all comedy comes from human tragedy... and so as part of life you need to be able to have fun and take enjoyment everyday even from the smallest, most basic things in life. C'est la vie.

Looking at what I wrote above is pretty heavy and for those with ADD - probably quite boring - I should make it sexier and more fun to compete with the other guys but I've come to realize that I'm just typing what I feel - got to be honest - not trying to scam anyone which unfortunately others on this site do- and most women make the mistake of going for... This is ME.

I am a pretty fun guy and don't take life that seriously - I do love to laugh and I try to make it my mission to make others laugh too. What's missing from above is what am I looking for in a woman. I could obviously go for the "fully loaded" perfect woman description... Nice but "perfect" is still in the eyes of the beholder... My pet peeve - women on the site who say they want someone of "their preferred type" - the funny thing with that is everyone else they dated of "their type" obviously didn't work out - time to be a bit more open and accepting of others! For me, it starts with the "click". I'll have a gut feel - and I have learned to trust my feelings and instincts. Some key pieces are someone with key values and interests - prefer (doesn't mean absolute because I am open to each person as an individual) someone professional like myself based on education and work ethic. Someone who is loyal, trusting, honest, respectful of others, definitely someone who is not a diva or spoiled who thinks the world revolves around them (amazing reading the "attitude" of some of the folks on POF), and a team player. It all starts with a date and taking it from there into a relationship.

I am separated (going through all the legalities for the divorce) and if that is an issue for people due to religious or personal beliefs - your loss - because I am a great guy. I obviously have proven my ability to commit! And unfortunately I have also learned what I am not willing to tolerate with someone at the extreme end. This is where trust and respect come in.

I'd want to make the first date as special for my date as possible (as well as for me)! That means making sure she is comfortable with whatever we agree to do - coffee/drinks on a patio (I don't drink coffee and the patio weather is fleeing us fast but you get the drift), going for a walk in a park, museum, gallery, dinner etc. Naturally we'd both want to learn more about each other in a relaxing environment and see if that special click occurs... I sure hope it does!
